Judging a book - or rather a relationship - by its cover

Monday, March 31st, 2008

What a great New York Times piece about how some people judge a potential partner by the company of the books that they do (or don’t) keep…and how while on the surface, some may say that you can learn a lot about someone by the books that they read, others suggest that this type of judgment is yet another way that people avoid relationships, blaming it on external issues like books when the real reasons are within themselves. Nice job, NYT. Read the full article here.

Because it’s the best and I mentioned it in an earlier post - the best song and video ever.

Bing Bong Brothers

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Thanks, Ed the Gent, for pointing out this video as I had not seen it yet. These guys, however, are some of my favorites (though Jake and Amir are now tops in my book). In an odd coincidence, a guy from my high school (Phil Lord) produced an earlier video of theirs for Awesometown. Just2Guyz is probably the song of theirs I like best - it’s on my iPod and I love listening to it at the gym ("P-A-R-T-Y, ’cause we got to").

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

As you know, I host the question & answer series of the Kinsey Confidential podcasts that are recorded in partnership with Indiana University and National Public Radio (NPR).
