INTERVIEW: Why Women Under 30 Don’t Want Sex

Katie Hintz-Zambrano recently interviewed me for a piece on AOL’s Lemondrop about desire, and distress about low desire, among women between ages 18 and 30. Of course, desire is complex and unfortunately it’s not often represented in a nuanced way in mainstream media. There are a plethora of reasons why women and men may not feel in the mood – and sometimes low desire is adaptive and not a problem in people’s lives. We all experience sex a bit differently from each other and it can change from relationship to relationship and even from day to day.
