This, to me, is heartbreaking. CNN is reporting that an 8 year old girl was restrained and sexually assaulted by 4 boys, who range in age from 9 to 14. The assault was apparently pretty horrific and, added to the already sad and challenging nature of the crime, is the fact that the girl and boys are apparently all refugees from Liberia, a country where rape was not made illegal until 2006. The girl’s sister and parents apparently blame the girl and feel shame on their family and, as a result, the girl is with child protective services.
